Ojo Council Chairman empowers 150 residents with over 6 million naira grants

The Chairman of OJO Local Government Council, Hon. Rasulu Olusola Idowu has advised the beneficiaries of another tranche of the annual financial empowerment to deserving members of public to make use of the money economically.

The Chairman of OJO Local Government Council, Hon. Rasulu Olusola Idowu has advised the beneficiaries of another tranche of the annual financial empowerment to deserving members of the public to make use of the money economically.

This was made known to Lagos Panorama in a press release signed by the Council’s Head, Public Affairs, Odunfa, M. Oyeleke, who stated that the local Government Boss made this known during the presentation of over 6 million nairas to 150 beneficiaries at the Local Government Multi-Purpose Hall, Ojo.

Hon. Idowu noted that this gesture was highly desirable after the ease of the Covid -19 pandemic to uplift the deserving members and downtrodden financially and economically.

The Executive Chairman reiterated that “It is the tradition of my administration to empower the less privileged annually since inception” adding that this has made an economic significant impact in the lives of the people.

He revealed that the beneficiaries were categorized into 3 groups. Group A: One hundred thousand nairas each, Group B: Fifty thousand naira each, Group C: Vulnerable ones, Twenty-five thousand naira each. The selection cut across the five political wards in the Local Government Area.

Hon. Idowu further maintained that his administration has transformed the local government sectorally on infrastructural renewal, improved primary health care delivery, quality primary education, poverty alleviation, and many other social services and pledged to do more in the future.

Responding, on behalf of the beneficiaries a physically challenged Cobbler and second time beneficiary of One hundred thousand nairas, Mr. Uche Udame thanked the Chairman for his kindness to uplift the less privileged.

The event was witnessed by the Vice-Chairman, Hon. Edna Uche Ubochi, Leader of the Council, Hon. Wusu Solomon Adefemi, Secretary to the local government, Hon. Sikiru Lawal, Council-Manager, Mrs Esther Ajose, Others include Councillors, Exco Members, Party Members, All Progressives Congress and Stakeholders in the Local Government Area.
