Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Executive Chairman, Mr David Olusegun Odunmbaku, has sent a Palm Sunday message to Christians in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

The council boss reflected on the significance of the day with Bible verses: “The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!'”, Odunmbaku quoted reading John 12:12-13.

Palm Sunday is a special day in the Christian faith. It signals the end of Lent, which is a 40-day period of fasting and reflection during which people might give something up in order to demonstrate their devotion to their faith.

Palm Sunday is also significant because it is the start of Holy Week, the seven days that lead up to Easter.
