Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Igboho ‘released’ in Benin Republic

A Nigerian activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Ighoho, has been released.

A Nigerian activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Ighoho, has been released.

A statement on Monday by Maxwell Adeleye, Communications Secretary, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), made the announcement on Monday.

The spokesman said the Yoruba Nation agitator was handed over to IOO leader, Prof. Banji Akintoye, by the Benin Republic Government.

IOO is the umbrella body of a number of Yoruba self-determination groups.

Adeleye said Igboho’s freedom is “a triumph of truth over darkness in Yoruba land”.
