…Says Nigeria is On Path of Recovery

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa has advised Nigerians not to relent in collaborating with government at all levels to develop the country and ensure its return to greatness.

Rt. Hon Obasa stated further that making the country great should be a collaborative effort of the the government at all levels on one hand and the people on the other.

The Lagos Assembly Speaker’s advice was contained in a statement to felicitate with Nigerians on the 59th Independence Anniversary of the country.

“I’m convinced that we’re on the way to regaining our lost glory. Nigeria is on the road to greatness and we at government will continue to work towards returning the country back to greatness.

“However I want to reiterate the fact that government alone cannot achieve our aim of making the country great without the support, cooperation and prayers of our people.

“Making Nigeria great should be a collaborative effort between the government and the governed. If we are united in our efforts and complement each other, Nigeria will bounce back to glory,” he said.

The Lagos Assembly Speaker explained that one way Nigerians can collaborate with government is in the area of fighting crimes.

“Doing this, our people should be vigilant at all times. We should cooperate with security agencies by giving information about suspicious people and individuals. We should monitor our children on the kind of people they move and relate with and we must not allow our children not to be used to cause confusion, chaos and violence in the society,” Rt Hon Obasa said.

He assured Nigerians that the government at all levels will continue to work towards improving their welfare and enhance their standard of living.

“On behalf of my colleagues in the Lagos State House of Assembly, I wish you all a Happy Independence Day Anniversary celebration,” Rt Hon Obasa said
