The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded major successes in its ongoing counterterrorism and counter-banditry missions across several northern states, executing a series of precision airstrikes that neutralized terrorists and destroyed multiple hideouts.
In a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the operations targeted Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) strongholds in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram in Borno State, as well as bandit enclaves in Garin Dandi and Chigogo in Kwara State, and Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The coordinated missions, conducted under Operation HADIN KAI in the North East and Operation FANSAN YAMMA in the North West, were described as decisive strikes against terrorist and criminal networks destabilizing the region.
According to NAF, the airstrikes represent a new phase in the intensified nationwide campaign to degrade insurgent capabilities and deny them safe havens.
> “Each mission reaffirms NAF’s resolve to deliver smarter, intelligence-driven airpower with precision and purpose — ensuring lethal impact on insurgents and criminals while protecting citizens and safeguarding national assets,” the statement said.
The statement added that the latest successes reflect the renewed tempo and strategic coordination ordered by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, who has emphasized proactive air operations in support of ground troops.
NAF reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the momentum of joint operations with sister security agencies to ensure lasting peace and stability across Nigeria’s northern corridor.
