A Celestial Church of Christ shepherd in Ogun State has allegedly macheted his wife to death during a midnight domestic dispute over suspected infidelity before throwing himself under a speeding truck on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

1. Horror in Ogun: Celestial pastor kills wife over infidelity, runs into speeding truck
Bidemi Odukoya, shepherd of the Celestial Church of Christ, Iri Orun Parish in Akiode Ibogun, Ifo, allegedly killed his wife with a machete and wooden stool around 2am on August 31.
He later fled and jumped in front of a moving truck at Coker junction, dying instantly. Both were buried the same day beside their home as residents struggled to comprehend the tragedy.
2. Auditor-general flags N33.75bn transfers to unverified beneficiaries
The Auditor-General’s 2024 report has queried electronic transfers of N33.751bn to 3,295,207 households under the National Cash Transfer Office for 2023.
Auditors said paid vouchers lacked full beneficiary details and the Remita statement needed for verification was not presented.
The report recommended that the National Programme Manager account for the sum before the National Assembly.

The Lagos-born scholar, who joined the college in 2008, will succeed Martin Phillipson. The university praised her academic excellence and leadership in legal education and Indigenous legal scholarship.

5. My customers taught me Yoruba – London trader, Olakunle Oshodi
An Iraqi trader at Woolwich Market in London has said about 95 per cent of his customers are Yoruba and that they taught him the language over the past three years.
A customer gave him the name Olakunle Oshodi. He said speaking Yoruba has helped his cosmetics and hair business grow and created stronger connections with clients, though he has never visited Nigeria.
