Lionel Andrés Messi, the 34-year-old forward player for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will return to his former club, Barcelona on one condition.

According to El Nacional, Messi will return to Barcelona if Gerard Pique is not at the Blaugrana anymore.

Messi learnt that Pique had told Barcelona President, Joan Laporta, that with his departure, the club’s finances would improve, El Nacional reports.

This, they said, offended him so much and coupled with the French media’s portrayal of him, left him frustrated.

In 2021, he left Barcelona to join PSG on a free transfer after 16 seasons at the Nou Camp. During his time at Barcelona, he scored a record 672 goals in 778 appearances.
