LASVO commences tagging of LASG property

The Lagos State Valuation Office (LASVO) has commenced the tagging of all Lagos State Government property with barcode enabled labels geared towards updating of government assets, keeping records, as well as creation and management of fixed assets register for all Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the State.

Speaking during the commencement of the tagging exercise on Thursday at Radio Lagos, Alausa, Ikeja, the Director, LASVO, Esv. Adekunle Awolaja, explained that the exercise was designed to enable the State keep records of government assets and ensure easy identification and location of such property.

He explained that the exercise will help to safeguard the numerous State government property belonging to the MDAs across the Lagos metropolis. Therefore, he appealed to all staff of the State Government, especially the MDAs, to render all necessary support to the Agency towards the successful completion of the tagging exercise.

In her remarks, the General Manager, Radio Lagos, Mrs. Ayo Shotonwa, who welcomed the LASVO team to the station, commended the Agency for the exercise, noting that the exercise would ensure that all government assets are well documented, maintained and kept safe.

Recall that the Lagos State Valuation Office had, in December 2020, embarked on the verification and compilation of the State Government’s fixed assets across the metropolis in line with international best practices.
