LASG airlifts second batch of christian pilgrims

The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) on Wednesday airlifted the second batch of 150 pilgrims to the Holy Land of Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan.

Speaking to the intending pilgrims at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu, admonished the participants to represent their families, Lagos, Nigeria, and the body of Christ well while abroad saying, “It is a spiritual journey ordained by God for you to seek His Face for yourself, family, Lagos, and Nigeria”.


Urging the pilgrims to observe the tenets of Christianity and be focused, the Permanent Secretary thanked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for supporting the pilgrimage and providing an enabling environment for the body of Christ in Lagos State.


In his remarks, the Chairman of LSCPWB, Rt. Rev. Babatunde Akinpelu-Johnson, encouraged the pilgrims to embrace the prevailing spirit at the historic sites and use the opportunity to strengthen their faith and relationship with God.
He also charged participants to emulate Christ by displaying character that would make them role models when they return home.


Meanwhile, the first batch of pilgrims on the exercise to Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan has arrived in the country.
Expressing delight at the safe arrival of the pilgrims, Whenu thanked God for a hitch-free exercise, noting that there was no case of abscondment. 

He mentioned that the successful exercise is a testament to the efficiency of LSCPWB officers, thanked the pilgrims for their cooperation and patience, just as he gave an assurance that outstanding services will always be provided by officials of the Board.
