President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has placed Nigeria’s investment opportunities and economic potential in the global spotlight after ringing the closing bell at the Nasdaq Stock Market in New York.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday on the sidelines of the ongoing 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, as the President continues engagements aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economic and investment relationships on the global stage.

The Nasdaq, ranked second among the world’s stock exchanges by market capitalisation of listed shares behind the New York Stock Exchange, is also the most active stock-trading venue in the United States by trading volume.

The closing bell ceremony, held at the seven-storey Nasdaq headquarters in New York, traditionally marks the end of a trading session and provides a platform for global business and investment visibility.

Tinubu’s appearance at the Nasdaq further highlighted Nigeria’s drive to attract foreign investment, deepen international economic partnerships and showcase the opportunities available across the Nigerian economy.

For Nigeria, the moment offered a powerful representation of the country’s ambition to strengthen its position in the global economy and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda towards greater prosperity and economic growth.
