The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has launched an internal investigation following allegations circulating on social media that one of its staff members received payments from customers through a personal bank account for signage-related services.

In a statement issued by the Agency’s Management, LASAA described the allegation as “a matter of utmost seriousness,” stressing that such conduct, if confirmed, would be in direct violation of the Agency’s financial and ethical procedures, as well as the Lagos State Civil Service rules.

According to the statement, the Honourable Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, has directed that the staff in question report to LASAA’s Head Office for immediate investigation and disciplinary action in line with public service regulations.

The Agency reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical standards in all its operations, emphasizing that all payments for signage and advertising services must be made strictly through officially designated government channels.

“LASAA maintains a zero-tolerance policy for any form of financial impropriety,” the statement noted. “We appreciate the vigilance of members of the public who bring such matters to our attention and assure all stakeholders that corrective measures will be taken to preserve public trust and uphold the integrity of our processes.”

The Agency further stated that updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
