Lagos Police apprehend cult leader ‘Marshal General’ over DJ’s murder in Abule-Ado

The Lagos Police Command has arrested Christian Chukwudi, also known as ‘Marshal General’, a suspected cult leader, in connection with the murder of Victor Dickson, a 32-year-old Disc Jockey (DJ), in the Abule-Ado area.

Dickson was performing at a hotel along Community Road on Saturday night when armed assailants, suspected to be cult members, attacked and killed him, causing panic among guests.

POLICE INTERVENTION AND ARREST

Responding to a distress call, police officers pursued the assailants, who fled through FESTAC Town. However, Chukwudi was arrested with the help of FESTAC vigilantes while attempting to escape.

Confirming the arrest, Lagos Police Spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said a locally made shotgun and a live cartridge were recovered from the suspect.

ANOTHER CULT LEADER ARRESTED

In a separate operation, police officers from Iju Division arrested another suspected cultist, Ibrahim Toheeb, 26, alias “Baales”, at Fagba Junction around 7 a.m. on Saturday.

Toheeb, who had been on the police wanted list for cult-related killings, was caught with wraps of suspected drugs.

ONGOING INVESTIGATIONS

Hundeyin assured the public that investigations are ongoing and necessary legal actions will be taken against the suspects.
