Lagos Mainland Chairman Host Distinguished Sen.Oluremi Tinubu’ (OON) 31st Annual Town Hall Meeting and 10th Edition of ECAS

Oluremi Tinubu (OON) Elderly Citizens Assistance Scheme (ECAS) and Town Hall Meeting at the council secretariat today, the 17th December, 2021

Executive Chairman Lagos Mainland Local Government, Hon Mrs Omolola Essien, ably represented by the vice chairman, Hon. Jubril Emilagba host the annual Distinguished Sen. Oluremi Tinubu (OON) Elderly Citizens Assistance Scheme (ECAS) and Town Hall Meeting at the council secretariat today, the 17th December, 2021

The programme being the 10th and 31st edition and the third in the Ninth Assembly was Themed “COVID-19 Beyond: Safeguarding the Elderly”. ECAS, a great initiative of the Distinguished Senator Oluremi serves as a means of appreciating the elders of Lagos Central Senatorial District and also a form of financial assistance scheme.

While addresing the elders in her speech, the Distinguished Senator read ” I sincerely appreciate each and everyone for always supporting me. Time after time, for always standing by me, God in His infinite mercy will continue to be with you all.The elderly citizens of Lagos Central Senatorial District are of great importance to me and needs to be care for.Today, over 1,300 elderly residents of Lagos Central Senatorial District will be given #10,000 (Ten thousand Naira), a warm water jug each and many other beautiful gift items.”

“To futher ensure good and quality well-being of the people, I have passed several bills which will be of great help to everyone when given assent, they include: Increase funding to primary health care services, senior citizen protection bill amidst others”. Distinguished Senator Oluremi added.

However, she implore individuals, organizations to work hand in hand with the government to achieve a good health and more development of the district.

Expressing gratitude, the beneficiaries; Alh S.A Lawal, Mrs. Afusat Bello, Alhaja Afusat Bello, Alh Falilat Atolagbe, Omini Blessing, Mrs. Risikatu Agbomabini among others, expressed their profound gratitude to the  Senator for the programme consistency and her love towards the elders. May The Good Lord continue to bless her and give her more strength because she has always been a mother.

Also, they extend their appreciation to the chairman, Hon. Mrs Omolola Essien for her immense contributions and support towards the development of the community and her love, respect for elders.
