Lagos LG poll: APC aspirant seeks fair primary

A chairmanship aspirant in the Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State, Abisola Omisore, has called for a free and fair All Progressives Congress primary election.

A chairmanship aspirant in the Ikeja Local Government Area of Lagos State, Abisola Omisore, has called for a free and fair All Progressives Congress primary election.

The aspirant made this known on Friday while receiving the chairmanship nomination form purchased for him by a group, Ikeja Progressive Youths.

Omisore, who pledged transparent and transformative leadership if given the mandate, also expressed confidence in the leadership of the party in the council.

He said, “While we seek a free and fair primary, I am confident that the election will be a beacon of transparency and fairness, empowering the most exceptional candidate to emerge and proudly represent our party.”

During the event, another aspirant, Tayo Aderinola, stepped down for Omisore, pledging his full support.

In his remarks, Aderinola said his decision to withdraw was reached after consultations Omisore, visibly moved by the endorsement, hailed the youths for their belief in his vision.

“Today, you have not just endorsed a candidate; you have ignited a movement for transformative leadership,” he said.

He vowed that if elected, his administration would prioritise youth empowerment, inclusive governance, sustainable infrastructure, security, and welfare.

“Our future belongs to those who prepare for it today,” Omisore declared the group leader, Gbenga Bolaji, described the move as a commitment to credible leadership, citing Omisore’s humanitarian record, youth empowerment initiatives, and unwavering dedication to the community.
