Lagos Govt converts Lagos Poly, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education to Universities

The Lagos State Government has converted the Lagos State Polytechnic to Lagos State University of Science, while Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education are now Lagos State University of Education.

The Lagos State Government has converted the Lagos State Polytechnic to Lagos State University of Science, while Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education are now Lagos State University of Education.

This was announced by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Hon Tokunbo Wahab, who posted the information on his Facebook account on Thursday evening.

In order to improve quality assurance and to remove the dichotomy in the employability of polytechnic graduates vis-a-vis their counterpart in the university, Lagos State Polytechnic is now Lagos State University of Science and Technology, while Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education are now Lagos State University of Education.

17.5 million Nigerians vaccinated against COVID-19, says NPHCDA

Over 17.5 million Nigerians have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccines, according to the National daily call-in data from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA). The Agency revealed that as of January 14, 2022, 12,559,347 of the total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination were reached with the first dose, while 4,967,233 were reached with the second dose (fully vaccinated). In total, 17,526,580 persons have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the lifesaving COVID-19 vaccine.
