The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has formally welcomed the return of Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran, alias Jandor, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, along with his loyal supporters.
Jandor, who submitted his resignation from the PDP on March 3, citing party indiscipline and leadership betrayal, made his return to the APC public on Monday.
Recall that Jandor, a key figure in the Lagos4Lagos Movement and former APC governorship aspirant, had defected from the APC to join the PDP in 2021.
According to a press statement made available to Lagos Panorama on Monday, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the State APC Spokesman, expressed the party’s excitement to welcome Jandor back to its fold.
“He is welcome home” Oladejo noted.
“We are happy that he now appreciates the fact that Lagos State is still better and safer in the hands of the progressives, who have enjoyed the uninterrupted trust and confidence of our people since the inception of this dispensation.
“We believe there is sufficient opportunity for him to contribute his quota to the continuous success of our government and the growth of our party.
“We are expecting more defectors in the days ahead,” Oladejo said.
Jandor declared his defection to the APC in Lagos on Monday, following his resignation from the PDP weeks earlier.
He cited internal party disputes and the absence of discipline within the PDP as reasons for leaving.
