The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cornelius Ojelabi, has called on all aspirants and stakeholders of the party to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly as the party commences its primaries across the state.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on the eve of the primaries, Ojelabi expressed appreciation to party members for their loyalty and commitment to the APC, describing the party as “a beacon of democratic values, unity, and national development.”
He urged all aspirants to demonstrate maturity, discipline, and strict adherence to the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines throughout the exercise.
According to him, the primaries remain a democratic process aimed at producing credible candidates who will represent the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
The Lagos APC chairman warned against actions and utterances capable of causing division within the party, stressing the need for peace, mutual respect, and solidarity before, during, and after the primaries.
Ojelabi also appealed to aspirants and their supporters to embrace fairness and sportsmanship, noting that the victory of any aspirant should be seen as a collective success for the APC family in Lagos State.
He further charged party faithful to remain committed to the shared vision of strengthening the party and ensuring continued delivery of purposeful leadership and good governance to the people of Lagos State.
The APC primaries are expected to begin tomorrow across various constituencies in the state as aspirants battle for the party’s tickets ahead of the next general elections.
