The Lagos State Government on Sunday announced the closure of Metal Box Road, Ogba for one week to install a precast concrete culvert.

This is part of move to find solution to the problem of flooding along Aba Ogunji Road, Ogba.

The closure of the road will begin from Tuesday, June 28 to Tuesday, July 5, 2022, a statement from the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde has said.

Explaining the diversion plan, Oladeinde stated that the diversion was necessary to provide lasting solutions to the flooding issues on some roads in the metropolis.

Oladeinde advised motorists in the mentioned construction area to utilize Acme Road, Wempco, Akilo and Ijaiye Roads to connect their desired destinations.

He stressed that only Metal Box Road would be barricaded from Traffic.

He affirmed that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would be on ground to manage movement and minimize inconveniences.

The Transport Commissioner called for more understanding as the current weather conditions had necessitated such steps.
