IPOB Cancels Sit-at-Home Order After Directive from Nnamdi Kanu

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the cancellation of its sit-at-home order across the South-East, following a directive from its detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the cancellation of its sit-at-home order across the South-East, following a directive from its detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The group disclosed this in a statement read in a viral video circulated on social media on Saturday. According to IPOB, the decision was taken after Kanu instructed the leadership of the organisation to suspend the sit-at-home action in the interest of peace and the resumption of normal economic activities in the region.

IPOB noted that the move was aimed at easing tensions and allowing residents to go about their lawful businesses without fear or disruption.

The development comes amid recent actions by the Anambra State Government, where Governor Chukwuma Soludo enforced the reopening of shops and markets across the state, particularly the Onitsha Main Market, on Monday.

The cancellation is expected to restore commercial activities and improve social and economic life across the South-East.
