International Day Of The Girl Child: Hon. Kasunmu supports 1000 female students with personal hygiene materials

In commemoration of this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, Lagos State House of Assembly Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK) yesterday supported over 1000 female students of Agidingbi Senior and Junior Grammar School with menstrual hygiene packages and products.

In a special program headlined by HAMMEDAH POVERTY RELIEF FOUNDATION in partnership with ARK GLOBAL FOUNDATION, ( a corporate social responsibility non-profit, founded by Hon. ARK), the Deputy Majority Leader gave out over 1000 units of Menstrual hygiene materials to the female students of the school.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu commended the students for participating in the program. He also admonished them on the need to put in more hardwork into their studies, stating that this is the only way to guarantee a brighter rewarding future. He impressed it upon the students that the essence of the International Day of the Girl Child is to draw attention to the plights of the girl child worldwide with the aim of creating equal or better opportunities for them in all aspects of the society.

Hon. Kasunmu also appreciated the founder of Hammeedah Poverty Relief Foundation, Hadjia Hammedat Balogun, for her relentless efforts in reaching out to the girl child over the years.

In her response, Hadjia Hammedat Balogun thanked Hon. Kasunmu for always supporting programs relating to the youth generally, especially the ones concerning the welfare of young girls.

She explained further that, the distribution of menstrual hygiene packages to the girls in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child is in line with SDGs 3 and 4.

Balogun also expressed appreciation to the LADY CARE brand for supporting the program with their high quality products.

In her remarks, the school Principal, Mrs Faronbi thanked Hon. Kasunmu, Hammeedah Foundation as well as ARK Global Foundation for choosing the school for the reach-out program, she promised to keep guiding the students in the best way possible towards making them better citizens of the nation.

The students were very happy and excited about the opportunity of participating in the program.
