INEC Makes Preliminary Voters’ Register for 2027 Elections Available Online

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to make the Preliminary Register of Voters for the 2027 General Election available online, following calls from Nigerians and other stakeholders for wider public access.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to make the Preliminary Register of Voters for the 2027 General Election available online, following calls from Nigerians and other stakeholders for wider public access.

The Commission disclosed this in an update issued on Monday, October 26, 2026, by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC).

According to INEC, the online publication will complement the physical display of the Preliminary Register of Voters, which was conducted nationwide at Registration Areas from October 9 to 15, 2026, in line with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026.

The exercise provided registered voters with the opportunity to verify their personal details and submit claims and objections as permitted by law.

INEC explained that it had taken note of concerns raised by Nigerians and other stakeholders regarding the need to make the register accessible through its online platform in addition to the physical display.

The Commission said the same preliminary register previously displayed at Registration Areas would be uploaded to its dedicated online portal to promote transparency, accessibility and public confidence in the electoral process.

Registered voters can access the online register through https://display.inecnigeria.org.

Meanwhile, INEC stated that it is continuing to process claims and objections arising from the physical display exercise in preparation for the certification and publication of the Final Register of Voters on December 15, 2026.

The Commission expressed appreciation to Nigerians and stakeholders for their continued interest and constructive engagement, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability and the faithful implementation of the Electoral Act, 2026, towards delivering credible elections.
