The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted claims that its recent press statement was sourced from a third party, insisting the communication originated solely from the Commission.

INEC clarified that any circulation of the statement outside its official platforms was done independently and without its coordination.

The Commission also described a report by Peoples Gazette titled “Nigerians react as INEC reposts Tinubu aide’s message” as false, misleading, and a distortion of facts.

According to INEC, its decision to repost the statement was strictly to amplify accurate information it had already released, and should not be interpreted as support for any individual or political figure.

Reaffirming its stance, INEC emphasized its commitment to neutrality, urging the public to disregard any misleading narratives surrounding its actions.
