The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has extended warm felicitations to mothers and women across Ikeja as they join the rest of the world in celebrating Mother’s Day.
In a statement marking the occasion, Chairman Dauda described mothers as the silent pillars of society whose nurturing spirit, sacrifices, guidance, and unwavering support continue to shape families and strengthen communities.
“Mothers are the quiet heroes of our society. They nurture, sacrifice, guide, and inspire. Their contributions to family stability, community development, and nation-building cannot be overemphasized,” he said.
The chairman noted that women in Ikeja have continued to demonstrate resilience, enterprise, and dedication across various sectors, including commerce, education, public service, and community leadership. He commended their contributions to sustaining the socio-economic vibrancy of the local government.
Dauda further reaffirmed that the Ikeja Agenda remains firmly committed to policies and programmes that promote the growth, protection, and empowerment of women across the local government. According to him, the administration will continue to champion initiatives that expand opportunities for women, support female entrepreneurs, strengthen family welfare, and encourage inclusive participation in governance.
He also used the opportunity to offer prayers for mothers and women across the council area.
“On this special occasion, my wife, Mrs. Temitope Dauda, and I celebrate all mothers and women in Ikeja. We pray that God will continue to strengthen you, grant you good health and long life, and may you continually reap the fruits of your labour. Your sacrifices will never go unrewarded,” he stated.
Chairman Dauda urged residents to continue to honour, respect, and support mothers, stressing that strong families remain the foundation for sustainable development in the Ikeja community.
He concluded by wishing all mothers a joyful and fulfilling Mother’s Day celebration.
