The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Pa Akinola, a revered elder statesman and community leader whose passing has created a profound sense of loss within Ikeja and the Lagos political community.
During the visit, the Chairman met with the widow, Elder (Mrs.) Akinola, and the children of the deceased, including Engr. Kehinde Akinola, a prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.
Hon. Dauda, speaking on behalf of the government and people of Ikeja, presented an official condolence letter to the family. He described the late Pa Akinola as “a man of honour, integrity, and selfless service,” noting that his lifelong contributions to community growth and human development would remain indelible in the annals of Ikeja’s history.
He urged the family to find strength in the enduring legacy of the departed patriarch, stressing that his exemplary life of service will continue to inspire present and future generations across Ikeja and Lagos State.
The Chairman was accompanied by the six councillors of the Ikeja Legislative House, led by the Leader, Hon. Rasheed Adisa Ogunseye, alongside the former Supervisory Councillor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Chief (Mrs.) Funmibi Akinduro.
The visit featured prayers, words of comfort, and heartfelt tributes — reflecting the unity, compassion, and community spirit that have become the hallmark of governance under Hon. AKOD’s leadership.
