The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has paid glowing tribute to the late Hon. Oladotun Olakanle, former Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, as friends, colleagues, and political associates mark his one-year remembrance.
In a heartfelt message released from Ikeja House, Comrade Dauda described the late Hon. Olakanle as “a true leader, loyal ally, and dependable brother” whose life epitomized selfless service, integrity, and community-driven leadership.
He praised the late council boss for his unwavering commitment to good governance and his passion for grassroots reforms that continue to shape the Ikeja political landscape.
“Hon. Oladotun Olakanle was not only a dependable colleague but also a brother whose wisdom and sincerity left lasting impressions on everyone who encountered him. His legacy will continue to inspire us to serve with courage, honesty, and compassion,” AKOD said.
Reflecting on their shared journey in public service, Comrade Dauda fondly recalled several moments spent brainstorming on developmental strategies and exchanging ideas aimed at improving governance across Ikeja Division. He emphasized that Hon. Olakanle’s leadership style — marked by humility, dedication, and genuine concern for his people — remains a model for others in public office.
