The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Tuesday presided over the monthly Peace and Security Council Meeting held at his office in Ikeja House.
The meeting brought together heads of all security agencies operating within the local government, alongside key community stakeholders including the Chairperson of the Community Development Committee (CDC), representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the League of Imams, as well as the Regent of Ikeja.
Security chiefs at the session presented detailed briefings on the security situation across Ikeja over the past month, outlining major developments, operational challenges, and proactive interventions that have sustained law and order in the council area.
In his address, Chairman Dauda lauded the security agencies for their relentless service and commitment to protecting lives and property. He praised their synergy in maintaining the peace for which Ikeja is known and urged continued vigilance amid evolving security dynamics.
Reaffirming his administration’s full support, the council boss pledged ongoing collaboration with security formations to strengthen intelligence sharing, community policing, and rapid response mechanisms.
The meeting ended on a note of renewed partnership as all stakeholders restated their collective resolve to uphold peace and enhance safety across Ikeja Local Government.
