Residents of Ijedodo and Ijegun areas of Lagos State on Monday embarked on a peaceful protest in Alausa, asking Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu
to save them from Land Grabbers who are bent on demolishing their houses for selfish reasons.
The residents said two people have already died as a result of the apprehension over the planned demolition, and that the Omo Oniles refused to allow the dead landlords to be buried in their houses on account of the pending demolition.
The residents said it was surprising that the land grabbers had the audacity to attempt to take over their land in question after the land had been duly mapped out by the Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
They said Governor Sanwo-Olu had already given an order on the issue but that it was being flouted by land grabbers.
