Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos – March 4, 2026 – The Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Prince Akanbi Usman Hamzat (UAH), on Wednesday officially swore in the new Supervisory Councillors as members of the Local Government Executive Council, reinforcing the council’s commitment to effective governance and grassroots development.
In his welcome address, Council Manager Mr. Tobun Olusola Nurudeen congratulated the appointees, urging them to uphold professionalism, accountability, and teamwork. He outlined their statutory roles and responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of responsive service delivery.
The Oath of Allegiance was administered by the Legal Officer, Barrister Samuel Agunloye. The appointees pledged to uphold the Constitution, faithfully discharge their duties, and act in the best interest of the Local Government. Addressing the new executives, Chairman Hamzat described their appointments as a call to dedicated service, expressing confidence in their ability to deliver meaningful impacts across their portfolios.
Chairman Hamzat also stressed unity, discipline, fairness, and collaboration, assuring residents that the new officials would justify the trust placed in them and provide responsive governance at the grassroots level.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Party Chairman, Chief Mrs. Kofoworola Ajayi, urged the executives to work with integrity and transparency while fostering harmony for the council’s continued growth.
The event concluded with goodwill messages and prayers for the sustained development of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government and Lagos State.
