Hunpe Presents Utility Vehicles to Badagry LG Executive Council Members

The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, has presented official utility vehicles to members of the Executive Council as part of measures to enhance their mobility, operational efficiency and effectiveness in serving residents.
The presentation was held on Tuesday at the Council Secretariat, Ajara-Badagry, as part of activities marking the first anniversary of the Hunpe administration.
Speaking at the event, Hunpe said the vehicles were not merely official means of transportation but operational tools designed to enable members of his administration to reach communities, engage residents and respond promptly to issues within their respective areas of responsibility.
According to him, effective governance requires public officials to be adequately equipped to discharge their responsibilities, adding that the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to responsive, people-oriented and development-driven governance.
The Chairman assured residents that his administration would continue to work within available resources while strengthening collaboration with relevant stakeholders to accelerate development across Badagry Local Government.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, who witnessed the presentation, commended Hunpe for what he described as a vision-driven approach to governance.
Alli-Balogun said his assessment was reinforced by the projects commissioned during the anniversary activities, which, he noted, demonstrated Hunpe’s clear vision and mission, listening disposition and commitment to the development of the people and the Local Government.
He particularly praised the provision of utility vehicles to members of the Executive Council, noting that improved mobility would enhance their ability to carry out their official responsibilities effectively.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Benjamin Adagba, described the presentation as a significant step towards strengthening the operational capacity of the Executive Council.
Adagba said the vehicles would enable members of the administration to maintain closer contact with their respective areas of responsibility, monitor activities and respond more promptly to the needs of residents.
The Council Manager, Mrs. Avoseh-Akwe Senami Oluwakemi, also commended the Chairman for his vision and all-encompassing approach to governance, particularly his attention to the welfare of residents and staff across the Local Government.
She noted that the administration had demonstrated commitment to improving the welfare of the people while simultaneously providing infrastructure and other interventions aimed at adding value to the Local Government.
Also speaking, the APC Badagry LGA Chairman, Hon. Gafar Muritala Meyon, commended Hunpe for what he described as innovative governance, while the APC Apex Leader, Chief Moses Zannu Ogunbiyi, praised the Chairman for his achievements since assuming office.
The event was attended by the Vice-Chairman, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi; wife of the Executive Chairman, Chief Mrs. Elizabeth Oluwatoyin Hunpe; councillors led by the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Bankole Mautin Asokere; Supervisors and Special Advisers; Heads of Departments and Units of the Council; party leaders, stalwarts and well-wishers.
