GOMAN, NAWOJ Celebrate Ebenezer Obey at 79

ABEOKUTA – Gospel Musicians from different parts of the country have converged on Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital to honour the legend of Juju and Gospel music, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey – Fabiyi on his 79th birthday.

Speaking at the event, National President of the Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria, GOMAN, Lady Evangelist Funmi Aragbaye encouraged Nigerians to always strive to use their talents to uplift the society regardless of the prevailing challenges.

Mrs. Aragbaye noted that people’s dedication and willingness to be of service to humanity would enable them to follow God’s way of bringing to pass His plan and purpose for every destiny.

The 79 year old legendary musician, Chief Commander, Ebenezer Obey, while expressing appreciation to God for sparing his life, also thanked the Ogun State chapter of GOMAN for adding glamour to his planned low key birthday celebration.

Earlier, The State Governor of GOMAN, Mrs. Damola Omonijo had explained that the event was put together by the Association to celebrate the living legend, Chief Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi for his contribution to the development of gospel music in Nigeria.

The ceremony which featured stage performances by notable Gospel Musicians was attended by a cross section of dignitaries, including the state leadership of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ led by the Chairperson, Mrs. Modupeola Sobukonla among others.
