“I have been inundated with calls that the Hausa community and their Yoruba counterparts are fighting in Agege in the last few days.

“My first reaction to the rumour was to ignore it given that it was a tissue of lies.

“But it appears to be gaining traction in some quarters, causing panic and thus the need to set the record straight.

“If anything, there was a fight between two hoodlum gangs around Around Ogba Central Mosque, Close to Samuel Ilori Court and thank goodness, the security authority and my humble self have nipped it in the bud.

“Unequivocally, there is no crisis between the two ethnic groups.

“I urge us all to spread fact and not fear.

“Collective efforts are required in the fight against crime, I enjoin you to report suspicious movements around your areas to organisations and community leaders working with the police to main law and order.
