Leading financial institution, Fidelity Bank Plc, has announced the launch of the second edition of its flagship women empowerment initiative, the HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 (HAP 2.0), aimed at equipping women with sustainable, income-generating skills.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition in 2023, the upgraded programme is designed to provide structured pathways to entrepreneurship through practical training and mentorship.
Speaking at a media briefing to herald the launch, the Divisional Head, Product Development, Osita Ede, said the new edition reflects the bank’s commitment to continuous improvement and greater impact.
“HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme 2.0 reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. Having evaluated feedback from the first edition, we have returned with stronger partnerships and deeper mentorship programmes to ensure that women acquire not just skills, but sustainable economic opportunities,” Ede stated.
According to him, participants will undergo intensive apprenticeship training under reputable institutions and industry experts in select fields including hairstyling, shoemaking, auto mechatronics and interior decoration.
Beyond vocational skills acquisition, the programme will also provide business advisory services, financial literacy training, structured mentorship, and access to the bank’s women-focused and SME financial solutions. Participants will also receive guidance on business formalisation and growth strategies.
Ede noted that the initiative aligns with the bank’s broader vision of positioning women as employers, innovators and key contributors to economic development within their communities.
