Father of the slain 400-level student of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, Ochuko Regha, on Monday, alleged that his daughter, Oghenefejiro, was killed by her ‘lover’ for rituals.

He killed My daughter, Bc he wanted to used her for ritual – Father – ALJAZIRALOtitiPRESSOghenefejiro was reportedly killed, last week Monday, in Benin City, by her boyfriend, Ochionogor Victor, and her body found in a pool of blood inside the room.

Regha, a Senior Director, Ministry of Finance, Delta State, who lamented the death of his daughter, fondly called ‘Sugar girl’, said she was killed because the ‘killer boy’ wanted her body parts for rituals.

Amid tears, Regha told newsmen, in Asaba, that the suspect killed his daughter with knives and other materials in his room, leaving her in the pool of her blood with eyes open.

He said: “At about 11:45a.m. on Monday morning, I called my daughter twice, and there was no response. I later sent her WhatsApp messages, but they weren’t delivered till her last breath.

“The boy who killed my daughter, even threatened the only man left in the compound, who heard my daughter’s cry and tried to rescue her. The protectors to the killer boy’s apartment were locked with heavy keys. The man alerted local vigilantes who came and broke the keys, but my daughter had died before help could reach her.

“On Tuesday, my co-in-law called and requested my presence at home. He later came to meet me at my location after the swearing in of the Delta State Executive Council members. He was in a hurry for us to get to the house. I became so curious, it was then, I received a call from my wife that Oghenefejiro had an accident and has been rushed to a hospital in Benin.

“Immediately, we rushed home, I requested to know who gave my wife that information, and I called the number who told me that they are in the hospital, and that the doctor asked them to get drugs for their daughter.  After a while I started calling, but nobody was picking my call again. It was then that someone called my wife and said, ‘your daughter is dead, ma’am’.”

Regha called on the authorities to ensure that Victor faced the full weight of the law to serve as a deterrent to others.
