Ikeja, Lagos — December 18, 2025
Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, the ranking lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, has empowered no fewer than 795 constituents through a series of skills acquisition, sensitisation and economic support programmes held between December 13 and 18, 2025.

The multi-day empowerment initiative, implemented across strategic locations within Ikeja Federal Constituency, covered vocational training, ICT and e-commerce education, public health sensitisation, and artisanship development, alongside cash grants and the provision of work tools to beneficiaries.
According to details released on Thursday, the programme commenced with a two-day training for youths on solar panel, streetlight and borehole installation and maintenance. The training, held on December 13 and 14 at BOS Hall, LTV8, Ikeja, attracted 300 participants.
On December 15, 75 youths and women received training in ICT and e-commerce at the Upper Hall 2 of Excellence Hotel, Ikeja, aimed at enhancing digital literacy and expanding access to online economic opportunities.
This was followed by a sensitisation programme on the prevention of drug abuse and gender-based violence, which held between December 15 and 16 at the Main Hall of Excellence Hotel, Ogba. A total of 300 women and youths participated in the exercise.
In addition, 120 artisans benefited from a three-day skills training programme in hairdressing, automobile mechanics, tailoring and other trades. The session took place from December 15 to 17 at Trident Suites, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja.

Speaking at the events, Rt. Hon. Faleke represented by his aide, Ademola Banjo, reaffirmed his commitment to sustainable empowerment and inclusive economic growth within the constituency.
He said the interventions were part of a long-term strategy to strengthen local skills capacity, reduce unemployment and create viable livelihood opportunities.
“Our focus is not only on short-term training but on creating lasting pathways to livelihoods,” Faleke stated. “We will continue to equip our people with relevant skills, provide start-up tools and link them to job opportunities. This is how we translate democratic dividends into real improvements in everyday lives.”
The lawmaker also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the administration’s emphasis on economic revival and private sector participation aligns with constituency-level empowerment initiatives.
He assured constituents of sustained interventions aimed at human capital development and economic inclusion across Ikeja Federal Constituency.
