
The people of Ikeja Federal Constituency experienced another impactful day of empowerment on Tuesday, as Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke presented various vocational equipment to over 400 residents to enhance their various businesses at the Nigeria Institute for Journalism playground, marking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s 2nd year anniversary.

Lagos Panorama reports that a total of 240 youths across the constituency covering Ikeja Local Government, Ojodu, and Onigbongbo Local Council Areas received ₦100,000 cash grants each after a training program on Monday.
Faleke urged the over 400 beneficiaries of the various empowerment tools to harness them efficiently for engagement in meaningful economic activities.

Items distributed included 36 tricycles, 3 dispatch motorcycles, 40 freezers, 18 generators, 65 industrial sewing machines, 3 sewing machines, 27 popcorn machines, 33 clippers, 71 grinding machines, security gear (raincoats, rain boots, batons), 5 air compressors, 50 crop chemicals, and 18 juice extractors, among others.

Rt Hon Faleke stated in his keynote address, “I encourage all beneficiaries to utilize these opportunities effectively, avoid all forms of social vices, and continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he implements his economic transformation agenda for Nigeria”.

The empowerment program will continue on Wednesday and Thursday, with an additional 170 participants scheduled to undergo business training, after which they will also receive cash grants to kick-start or boost their enterprises.
