Faleke commissions Ojodu Police Station new Administrative Block

The Member Federal House Representatives, for Ikeja Federal Constituency, Hon James Abiodun Faleke has commissioned the newly constructed Ojodu Police Station Administrative Building on Monday.

Following the aftermath of the EndSars protest which had some Divisional police stations destroyed and burnt down in late 2020 out of which Ojodu police station wasn’t an exception.

Recall that Hon. Faleke sometime last year visited the Ojodu police station after it was razed down by some unknown hoodlums after the 2020 EndSars protest was hijacked by criminals.

However, seeing the level of destruction and haven heard some of the challenges faced by the station, Hon Faleke then provided the station with patrol vehicles, a borehole, solar lights, and some television sets.

During an earlier visitation to the station he noticed the uncompleted structure within the premises which was put in place through the collective effort of the community. He met with the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of the Station and made a promise to complete the project.

Speaking at the event, the representative of Lagos Commissioner of Police, ACP Odubona commended the huge role and contributions made by Hon. Faleke towards the completion of the building project and also other assistance rendered to the station in the aftermath of the EndSars protest.

In his words, he noted that they would not have been able to witness today’s commissioning if not for the timely intervention of Hon. Faleke, who he said has done so much for the people of Ikeja, hence he deserves to continue representing the people of Ikeja at the Federal level.

Hon. Faleke in his remark said he stepped in as there was an immediate need to intervene in the security situation of the Ojodu community after the EndSars protest. “Many damages were done by hoodlums during the EndSars protest, part of which was the Ojodu police station which got razed down by some unknown hoodlums”.

He said it was imperative for him to complete the building project started by the community and to also provide every other necessary support because security matters is a collective responsibility.

More so, he called on all existing traditional rulers to assist the police to curb crimes and other negative social vices within their domain.

The commissioning event was well attended by notable dignitaries amongst those which include: Hon. David Segun Odunmbaku, (Executive Chairman, Ojodu LCDA), Hon. Bunmi Oluyadi, (Vice Chairman, Ojodu LCDA), Chief Matthew Akinsanya Olusola (APC party leader), Comrade Kelvin. Ajakaiye, (Chairman, APC Caretaker committee, Ojodu LCDA), Alhaja Olusola Kokumo (APC party leader, Ojodu LCDA), Serving and former Councillors of Ojodu LCDA, Traditional Rulers, heads of community associations, stakeholders and residents in Ojodu LCDA.
