Eti-Osa LG Chairman, Saheed awards bursary, scholarships, and GCE forms to deserving students in Eti-Osa.

It has been a yearly practice in Eti-Osa Local Government to give out bursary allocations to deserving youths within the community. This continuous practice is to encourage them to strive to do better. There are also special scholarship awards given to the top two students with higher cumulative GPAs.

The Chairman Hon. Saheed Adesegun Bankole, who was unavoidably absent but ably represented by The vice chairman Omooba Adeola Adetoro Adeyanju made her opening remarks, stressing the importance of attaining academic excellence, assuring them of the LG’s unwavering support towards attaining their academic goals as it is an investment into a brighter future for eti-osa community. She urged them to use the sums awarded judiciously knowing the harsh economic conditions the country is currently experiencing, these sums will relieve their parents of certain academic burdens. She showered encomiums on the Executive Chairman for his magnanimity displayed by doubling the sums awarded this year based on the need to adjust to the current realities on the ground.

A total of 135 students were awarded the sum of forty thousand naira as a bursary, and 2 students with the higher cumulative GPA were given scholarships of the sum of Three hundred thousand naira. This year, twenty GCE forms were given out to students in high school terminal classes. Awards of recognition were also given to some students who have been consistent with their grades and have been beneficiaries of the bursaries and scholarships.

The chairman, House Committee on Bursary Chief Olukolu, thanked the Executive Chairman, extolling his virtues of being empathic.
