The Onigbongbo LCDA on Monday 13th May 2024 at Wasimi Village Square held a Stakeholders meeting on proposed Peace Estate Road Construction which is expected to commence on Wednesday 15th of May, 2024, according to the Council Engineer Mrs. Kosoko.
In his keynote address the Executive Chairman of the Council, Honorable Oladotun Olakanle thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the creation of the 37 LCDAs in Lagos State to catalyzed sustainable development in the grassroots.
Hon Olakanle noted that, “this project is in fulfillment of my electoral promises to give back to the community, also in line with the Lagos state directives by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu for every Council to construct at least two major roads annually, that’s a total of 114 roads across the state”.
He said the construction of the Peace Estate Road is also facilitated to ease traffic of the Opebi link bridge under construction which will acts as a link to other roads like the Sheraton and Maryland.
This he said will reduce traffic gridlock experienced within the axis, and scheduled to be completed in 6 months.
Highlights of the meeting was the visitation to the proposed Peace Estate Road coordinated by the Council Engineer Mrs Kosoko with the contractors, Council Chairman and the Community leaders earmarking the areas to be demolished where the road will be constructed.
Others at the event are the Council Manager Alhaji Akeem Disu, CDA Chairman, Councilor of the ward Hon Gbenga Adedeji and a host of others.
