A middle-aged man, Mr. Emmanuel Ovwarueso, has reportedly beheaded his daughter for money ritual purpose. The suspect went ahead to bury the headless body of his daughter in a shallow grave.

The incident occurred last week Thursday in Uteh community, Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo state.

Operatives of Edo State Security Network (ESSN), ran into the suspect popularly known as ‘Emma One’ and arrested him.

He was arrested at Uteh area of Upper Mission Road Extension, where he lives with his family.

One of the operatives who spoke to journalists on the condition of anonymity, said, the victim’s head was discovered in a bag carried by the suspect.

He related: “We saw him that Thursday night with a bag, walking so fast like he was rushing to catch up with a flight.

“We stopped him, but he resisted us. We asked what was inside the bag, he said it was his food. So we searched the bag and found a human head inside.

“We interrogated him and from the way he was talking, it was obvious he was hiding something.

“So, we took him to his house and we met his wife tied down. We untie her and asked who tied her, she said it was her husband.

“She told us that her husband tied her down with a rope before killing their daughter.

“He took us to the place where he buried the little girl’s body in a shallow grave and the body of the girl was exhumed immediately,” he said.

As at the time of filing this story the State Police Command spokesman, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said: “I am not aware. I will find out and when I do, I will get back to you.”
