Ekiti Decides: Gov Oyebanji Votes, Dismisses Vote-Buying Allegations

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has dismissed allegations of voter harassment, intimidation and vote-buying raised during the ongoing governorship election.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has dismissed allegations of voter harassment, intimidation and vote-buying raised during the ongoing governorship election.

Earlier, the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dare Bejide, had alleged that APC members were distributing money to voters at a polling unit and called on security agencies to intervene.

However, speaking with journalists after casting his vote at Polling Unit 003, Okelele, Ikogosi-Ekiti, in Ekiti West Local Government Area, Governor Oyebanji said anyone making such allegations should provide evidence to support their claims.

The governor, who voted alongside his wife, Olayemi, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election so far.He also urged eligible voters who had yet to cast their ballots to come out peacefully and fulfil their civic responsibility.
