The Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, Hon Abiodun Jimoh Isola (Ejigbadero), has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing free and quality primary healthcare services to residents as he flagged off the 2026 Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (MNCAH+) Nutrition Week.
The programme, held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the Meiran Primary Health Centre, was organised in partnership with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board and Lagos State Health District I. It brought together healthcare professionals, community leaders, stakeholders and residents across the council area.
Speaking during the event, Mayor Ejigbadero assured expectant mothers, nursing mothers, children and adolescents of his administration’s continued commitment to accessible and qualitative healthcare services through the council’s primary health centres and designated health posts.
He urged residents to prioritise their health by taking advantage of the free medical services available during the week-long exercise, including regular medical check-ups and prompt treatment of health conditions.
As part of the programme, the council chairman distributed free diapers to nursing mothers and pregnant women. Other services provided included family planning for men and women, antenatal and postnatal care, deworming, malnutrition screening, Vitamin A supplementation, growth monitoring, and other essential maternal and child healthcare interventions.
In her welcome address, the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Clara Sekoni, commended the council administration for its collaboration with the Lagos State Government in improving healthcare delivery. She encouraged residents to make the most of the week-long programme by seeking medical attention for any health concerns, stressing that early diagnosis and treatment can save lives.
