The immediate past Presiding Chaplain of the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, Very Rev. Ayo Olu Oyadotun has admonished public servants in Lagos State to endeavor to discharge their duties conscientiously and truthfully in order to fast-track development and make life comfortable for the people.

Oyadotun, in his sermon at the Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service to commemorate the Y2021 Lagos Public Service Week, said public servants must have it in their minds that they have been chosen to be in their various positions to fulfill God’s mandate for the people, and that truth must be their watchword.

“As public servants, we must repent before God; we must not allow the devil to recruit us for his devilish agenda. You must deliver your task conscientiously and be men and women that love truth and mercy, justice and compassion, as well as righteousness.

“The Bible says righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach. Jesus is the way, the truth and life. Therefore, you must be truthful when dealing with one another.

“I mean, when it comes to packaging of proposals and implementation in your various offices, the question is how truthful are you? We all have to embrace the truth, and this is what can truly set the nation free,” Oyadotun admonished.

He commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his laudable achievements in the last two years, saying the feats the Governor had recorded in various sectors and sections could not have been possible without the help of God.

He also congratulated the Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola for sustaining and building on the enviable position of Lagos State Public Service as the number one public service in Nigeria, and beyond the shores of the country.

Also at the event where Mr Governor, who was represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr Gboyega Soyannwo; the First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; members of the State Executive Council; Body of Permanent Secretaries; members of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials; and clergymen from within and outside the state, among others.
