Ojodu ward D on Wednesday had its grassroots engagement in continuation of the Walk-Through-Rally in the 18 wards of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ikeja Federal Constituency towards creating awareness for all its candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
The Walk-Through-Rally was declared open by the APC Ojodu LCDA Chairperson, Alhaja Olusola Kokumo took off from Muyibi Junction, en route streets along Oke-Ira and terminated at the Council Secretariat in Oke-Ira.
The member Lagos State House of Assembly candidate for Ikeja Constituency 2, Honorable Adedamola Richard Kasunmu, surprised everyone at the rally with a birthday cake presentation to the Chairman APC Ikeja and Chair of 57 APC Chairmen in Lagos State, Alhaji Dally Adeokun who coincidentally celebrating his birthday.
In a message signed by the lawmaker, Hon. Kasunmu described the celebrant as a strategic thinker and innovative leader.
The message reads: “My Dear Chairman, Leader and Father, words can never be sufficient to describe your attributes, nature and virtues because they are too numerous to be captured in letters.
America’s 6th President, John Quincy Adams once said “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a LEADER”.
In the last couple of years, your actions, vision and passion for democracy and good governance, have been a great tonic and inspiration for us to dream, learn, do and become more in service to the people.

On this occasion of your birthday, I, on behalf of my family and the entire Ikeja Constituency 2, salute and celebrate your vision and tenacity.

Kasunmu while addressing the rally, also emphasized the need for all to go and get their Permanent Voters Card ready and vote for all APC Candidates, starting with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for President, the reelection of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu, Dr. Idiat Adebule for Senate, the reelection of Rt. Honorable James Abiodun Faleke for Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as well as Prince Seyi Lawal and himself for Lagos State House of Assembly for Ikeja Constituency I and II respectively.
He urged residents and all eligible voters to vote massively for the APC Candidates come February 25th and March 11.
Also in the same vein was the Chairperson of APC Ojodu LCDA, Alhaja Kokumo who implored residents to go and get their PVCs as soon as possible as the deadline is closer.
She said that the only weapon they have and not the social media or mere word of mouth. She also promised to provide transportation for easy access to the collection venue
.
Alhaji Adeokun in his appreciation message expressed gratitude to everybody present for honouring him and joining him in the celebration.
He said work must go on despite the birthday celebration, as the house-to-house campaign commenced, he, therefore, called on all the members of the 15-man committee per Polling booth to get their forms ready for the mobilization of 20 people each, so as to meet with 200,000 votes for Ikeja Federal Constituency for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the APC Candidates.
Alhaji Adeokun also reiterated that this is the 11th Walk-Through-Rally of the 18 wards and the 12th will be held on Friday in Onigbongbo ward D, to remain six wards, he concluded.
The event was well-attended by Party leaders, LGA Executives, Councilors and other APC Stakeholders across Ikeja Federal Constituency.
