On the 8th of September 2021, 559 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria

Till date, 197046 cases have been confirmed, 185379 cases have been discharged and 2578 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory

The 559 new cases are reported from 15 states- Lagos (232), Rivers (83), Enugu (66), Oyo (28), Kaduna (25), FCT (24), Delta (22), Akwa Ibom (19), Kwara (18), Ekiti (13), Bayelsa (9), Cross River (9), Ogun (6), Kano (3) and Gombe (2)

A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities
