Community Report: Alabi to Embark on resurfacing of major roads in Bariga

Akintunde, Ayodele, Buraimo Alli, 30 Others Due For Rehabilitation; Olohunkemi To Wear New Looks

In a bid for a greater and more developed Bariga, and what seems like concerted efforts in building and rehabilitating key infrastructure that can facilitate economic development, Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Hon Alabi Kolade David has earmarked thirty different roads in the Council for rehabilitation between now and January.

According to him, the rehabilitation was aimed at making the roads motorable, thereby bringing about the needed comfort for residents, especially for Christmas and New year celebrations.

The resurfacing and rehabilitation that will be done by the Bariga Road Maintenance Agency includes Fetuga, Adeniji, Akintunde Ayodele, Buraimo Alli, and Baptist church street.

Alabi, who is also the National Chairman of All Local Government Employees of Nigeria (AlGON), said the roads were chosen because of their connectivity to Gbagada expressway, while Sanyaolu street in Ilaje will be constructed to make journey seamless for the residents of Odunsi, Ilaje and Abeokuta streets.

He said Ebinpejo, Bola Adewunmi, Adebambo, Somade Aly / Falemi would be fixed in the next phase of the road rehabilitation plan, while other roads will subsequently follow.

Alabi also appealed to the residents of Morohunfolu and Falade to be patient as his admnistration was working ceaselessly to complete the roads, adding that the long stretch of Olohunkemi which is about 805 meters will also be done soon.
