Commissioner charges youths to participate in talent hunt, digital skills training programme

The Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation & Employment, Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, has charged youths to embrace and participate in the ongoing Talent Hunt and Digital Entrepreneurship Skills Training/Mentorship for Unemployed Youths holding in all the 57 LGs/LCDAs in Lagos State.

The Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation & Employment, Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, has charged youths to embrace and participate in the ongoing Talent Hunt and Digital Entrepreneurship Skills Training/Mentorship for Unemployed Youths holding in all the 57 LGs/LCDAs in Lagos State.

Mrs. Arobieke made the call in her address at the commencement of a training programme organised by the Ministry at the Apapa and Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Areas, adding that Lagos State Government is determined to prepare the youths for the future workplace as well as ensure they are not left out in the scheme of things.

She said: “Mr. Governor is poised to ensure that our youths’ involvement in governance will not only pave way for varied opportunities but contribute to the socio-economic development of the State. The present administration has expressed its desire to select the best talents among the participants in each LG/LCDAs, train them, engage them and transform them into the 21st century/world-class entertainers”.

The Commissioner further stated that the Ministry is ready to help youths identify their talents, passion and innate gifts and turn same into successful businesses by organising IT-Enabled Entrepreneurship training and mentorship programmes for talented youths with entrepreneurship dreams.

According to her, the talent hunt will consider the business side of the participants’ innate passion, talents as well as natural gifts and turn them into businesses so that they can become owners of their various ventures very soon.

Arobieke added that the purpose of the IT- Enabled Entrepreneurship Training was designed to make youths relevant in the global space, which is driven by digital technology.
