The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on Sunday received prominent leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from Jigawa, Plateau, Taraba and Zamfara States into the ruling party.
The defection ceremony took place at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, where the ADC chieftains formally joined the APC alongside their supporters.
Addressing the new members, Prof. Yilwatda highlighted what he described as significant development initiatives across Northern Nigeria under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in the areas of critical infrastructure, road construction and reforms in the energy sector.
The APC National Chairman urged the new members to work collaboratively with the party and contribute their experience and grassroots networks towards consolidating ongoing development efforts and advancing the nation’s progress.
He assured them of the party’s commitment to accommodating new members and providing a platform for collective participation in the political and developmental process.
The development further expands the APC’s political reach across the four states as the party continues its mobilisation and membership drive ahead of the 2027 general elections
