Super Eagles striker Ademola Lookman yet again turned on in style on Wednesday night to score his first ever Champions League goal as Atalanta thrashed Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 at the Veltins-Arena Stadium in Gelsenkirchen, Germany

Ademola Lookman went home with a Man of Match prize following Atalanta’s 3-0 victory over Ukrainian club, Shakhtar Donetsk. It was a night of accolades for the Nigerian international, as he helped his Atalanta side cruise to another victory.
The 26-year-old Lookman was the standout performer for Atalanta, contributing both a goal and an assist.
The Super Eagles forward set up the opening goal for Berat Djimsiti, who skilfully converted from close range. Lookman then got his first ever Champions League goal by finishing off a well-worked move that he had started with a back-heel flick.
Atalanta’s dominance was evident throughout the first half, with Lazar Samardzic and De Ketelaere both coming close to extending the lead. Lookman was particularly unlucky not to score a second, as his powerful volley struck the crossbar.
The ‘King of Bergamo’ crossed the ball after a short free kick was taken, which met Berat Djimsiti who smashed it past the goalkeeper into the net in the 21st minute.
Former Arsenal player, Sead Kolasinac, cut the ball back into the Shakhtar box. Lookman then slotted it into the net to double their lead in the 44th-minute mark.
Two goals for the away side in the first half weren’t enough to call it a night. Raoul Bellaniva was left unmarked when he nodded home a pin-cross from Davide Zappacosta to seal the win in the opening minutes of the second half.
Wednesday’s away win is Atalanta’s first after a goalless draw with Arsenal in Bergamo.
Shakhtar will hope to have a good time at the Emirates in their upcoming fixture on October 22.
