APC Unveils Revised Timetable for 2027 General Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released a revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 General Elections, outlining key dates and procedures for party primaries and candidate selection.

According to the document issued by the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the revised schedule aligns with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2022, and guidelines by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The timetable, signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, details a series of activities beginning with the notice of election to state chapters on April 20, 2026, and the sale of nomination forms from April 25 to May 2, 2026. Submission of completed forms is scheduled to close on May 4, 2026.

Screening of aspirants for all positions will take place between May 6 and May 9, followed by the publication of screening results on May 11 and appeals from May 12 to May 13.

Primary elections are slated as follows:

House of Representatives – May 15, 2026

Senate – May 18, 2026

State House of Assembly – May 20, 2026

Governorship – May 21, 2026

Presidential – May 23, 2026

Appeals arising from the primaries will run between May 18 and May 25, 2026.

The party also released details of nomination fees, with the presidential form pegged at ₦100 million, governorship at ₦50 million, Senate at ₦20 million, House of Representatives at ₦10 million, and State House of Assembly at ₦6 million. Female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities are eligible for discounts on nomination fees.

APC further directed that all payments for forms must be made through designated bank accounts, including Union Bank, UBA, and Zenith Bank.

The development was confirmed in a statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on April 27, 2026, emphasizing the party’s commitment to a transparent and well-structured electoral process.
