Samola appeals for progressive and formidable unification
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Olorunda LCDA, on Saturday the 16th of January, 2021, absorbed members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Olorunda, who voluntarily decided to defect into the ruling party.
Presiding over this occasion was the LGA Chairman, APC, Olorunda LCDA, Alhaji (Prince) Ade Balogun.
In his welcome address, the party Chairman said the process of absorption is long over due as the COVID-19 pandemic and Endsars protest served as unavoidable impediments.
He welcomed every volunteer officially into the ruling party-APC. He emphasised that this move was in the right channel and direction.
The party Chairman noted that volunteers cut-across every Ward in the LCDA and affirmed that the All Progressives Congress is a people friendly-party. He assured that no volunteer from the PDP would regret this applaudable decision.
Chief Kola Agbaje (Baale, Magbon), who stood as the key leader of all volunteers from the PDP, was acknowledged and obliged to address the convergence.
In his address, he noted that the decision to defect into APC by every former member of the PDP present was informed by a voluntary consent and that after considering the significant achievements of the Hon. Olatunde-led administration in Olorunda LCDA, hence the need to defect into the All Progressives Congress became compelling and imperative.
He therefore called on a strong political synergy among every party member and those who have voluntarily decided to join the APC.
The APC State Ex-officio, Alhaji Abu Akilapa expressed deep satisfaction with the perfect move of every former member of the PDP. He assured that no stone would be left unturned at ensuring that each and every volunteer benefits from the dividends of Democracy.
In his remark, the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Honourable Samson Folorunso Olatunde, commended the dexterity of everyone who has voluntarily joined the All Progressives Congress.
The council Chairman, stated that despite all odds, every volunteer maintained their perfect stand.
He therefore appealed for a progressive and formidable unification of aim, objective and purpose from every newly admitted member, and every old member of the All Progressives Congress as this is the only way more development can be achieved at the party level and at the Council level.
The occasion was concluded with the presentation of APC flag of honour to defecting members by the party LGA Chairman-Alhaji (prince) Ade Balogun.
